BANGALORE: There is no shortage of innovation in Sandalwood. Earlier, Shivarajkumar and Yagna Shetty starrer Sugriva was made in eighteen hours.
Its producer Anaji Nagaraj shelled out a lot of money to create a record in the annals of Kannada film industry by completing the shooting of Sugriva in 18 hours. However, the audience was not impressed with the film at all.
Now, Guruvendra Shetty, who handled the megaphone for the movie Nannedeya Haadu in which Anand and Ramya Barna were the lead pair, has been assigned to direct Theertharoopa. Its shooting is expected to be completed in twelve hours.
“Arrangements are being made to put up seven sets at Rockline Studios for this purpose. Earlier, we planned to commence the shooting on March 9 but it was postponed to March 25 due to the World Kannada Meet at Belgaum,” said Guruvendra.
On being asked what the objective was, he replied, “I want to prove that there is no dearth of innovative directors in Sandalwood. It will be the first Kannada film to be made in twelve hours. Seven directors will give guidance to sixty artistes while seven cinematographers will be busy shooting at seven different locations at Rockline Studios,” said Guruvendra.
“It is about young people who are in a terrible hurry to make money. There are many youth who depend on the property owned by their parents for livelihood. Theertharoopa conveys a message to youth on the importance of self reliance,” explained Guruvendra about the message the movie tries to convey.
Master Santosh is set to make his debut as a hero with Theertharoopa. Earlier, Master Santosh acted in Dr Rajkumar’s film Shabdavedhi. Roopika, who acted in films Chaitrada Chilipili and Kalgejje, is the heroine for this film. Kishori Ballal and Sadashiva Bramhavar are playing important roles too. Yogaraj Bhat has penned the lyrics for one song in this movie.
