After the mega success of ‘Udayananu Tharam’, Rosshan Andrews, the gifted director of Malayalam films comes with a new movie ‘Notebook’. This time with the help of the one of the biggest banners of Malayalam, Grihalakshmi Productions, Roshan deals the problems faced by children during adolescence.
‘Notebook,’ is about three girls (Sreedevi, Sara and Pooja) and two boys (Sooraj and Feroz) who are students of the twelfth standard. They have been studying together from the seventh standard onwards. Young and energetic, they are full of teenage pranks. They are involved in all issues in school. During the course of time Although her friends try to discourage her in the beginning, when they realise her involvement they support their relationship. But things turn negative when she misuses the freedom allowed by her friends and becomes pregnant. This unfortunate incident changes each one of their lives completely. The core message of this movie is that children should grow up close to their families and not in boarding schools.
All the actors are young new faces. Roma, Maria, Vaani, and Parvathy were selected from about 5000 applicants as the heroines of the film. Scriptwriters are Bobby and Sanju again after their super hit ‘Ente Veedu Appoontem’. The Lawrence School at Love Dale in Ootty is the major backdrop of the film. After the first schedule in Ooty, some scenes were shot in different places in Kozhikode and Kochi. Super star Suresh Gopi plays a guest role in this movie.
