Anushka Shetty, who debuted in Tamil films with the Sundar C directed ‘Rendu’ opposite Madhavan a few years back, has returned to Tamil industry with a bang. Though her latest Tamil film opposite Vijay has turned out to be a moderate hit, the sexy gal is excited that her role is received well by the Tamil audiences.
She also has ‘Singam’ opposite Suriya, another top hero in Kollywood. She talks about her career in Tamil and other things. Excerpts:
On her feelings before and after the release of ‘Vettaikkaran’
It was great to work with Vijay, who is so simple and down-to-earth. The film’s box-office collections are quite encouraging.
On the experience of ‘Singam’ opposite Suriya
‘Singam’ is another commercial entertainer in which I have got a significant role to play with. I am now learning Tamil to look realistic while lip-synching the dialogues.
On the second innings in Kollywood
I’m quite aware that there has been a lot of competition in Kollywood. There are lots of talented actresses in Tamil cinema and there is enough space for everyone. Healthy competition is necessary as it helps in keeping us on our toes.
