Actress Anushka Shetty, who has hit a purple patch in Tamil films especially after the stupendous success of her bilingual film ‘Arundhati’ in Tamil and Telugu, is pairing up with ‘ultimate star’ Ajit in his upcoming film, which would also be the star’s landmark 50th film in a career spanning just over one-and-a-half decades.
Anushka has recently procured her own house in Chennai in order to save the cost of spending for her stay in five-star hotels in the city.
She is said to be extremely happy that her latest film ‘Singam’ opposite Suriya has been declared a super-duper hit. Her disappointment that her film with Vijay in ‘Vettaikkaran’ didn’t do well has now been mitigated by the super-success of ‘Singam’. She is now all set to pair up opposite Ajit in his next film titled ‘Mangatha’, which is likely to be directed by Venkatprabhu.
The film is to be produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri, son of Union Minister Azhagiri. Anushka is said to have inked the deal hardly a couple of days ago when she gleefully signed along the dotted lines. Samantha, who had played Trisha’s role in the Telugu version ofthe film ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’, was to pair up opposite Ajit in the film but has now been replaced by Anushka .
Gautham Menon was to direct the film with Ajit and Samantha in the lead but after Menon walked out of the film, Samantha (who was probably Menon’s choice) too was shown the exit door and has been replaced by Anushka now.
