Navodya Appachan was the pioneer in Malayalam films. He made the first 3D film in India Kutty Chathan, directed by his son Jijo in 1984.The film was later dubbed into Tamil and Hindi as Chotta Chetan and went on to become an all time big blockbuster.
Now 26 years after it first released, the film is getting a makeover in Tamil, as it is being converted into digital 3D.
A special trailer release of the film was conducted at Sathyam Cinemas.
Ramanarayanan the TFPC chief under his Sri Thenandal Films is re-releasing it in a big way. The all new digital 3D film is titled Chutti Chathan. Prakash Raj, Santhanam have been added to the cast, while Madan Karky has written a new song for the film which has music by Ilayaraja.
Chutti Chathan in 3D digital has been reworked by Real Images, and the effects in the trailer are awesome. The film is scheduled for a Christmas release.
