Pawan Kalyan’s Jesus launched in Jerusalem

Ace director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s latest film on Jesus Christ, starring Pawan Kalyan in a prominent role, was launched in Jerusalem on August 31.

The film made for Aditya Productions is produced by Konda Krishnamraju and is a multi-lingual venture in Telugu, Hindi, English and Malayalam.

The film’s launch was done in a grand manner at Jerusalem and the event was watched live on video conference, where the media from Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Benguluru and Kochin were present.

Singeetham Srinivasa Rao said: “Several great films like King of Kings, Jesus of Nazareth and Passion of Christ had come on Jesus Christ. It is really an adventure to film, a venture which is known to all. I, Bharavi and Krishnam Raju had spent nearly two years on the script and concentrated much on its presentation to the audiences.”

“There are a lot of twists and turns. It is a wonderful drama. What did Jesus Christ do till he attained 12 years of age? Everybody knows it. After 12, Jesus comes into focus only at the age of 30, living for three more years in this world. What did he do in the gap of 18 years in between? There are rumors that he came to India and spent time with sadhus and saints in India, but there is no proof. There are about 15 child artistes in the film. We picked up Christiana Tinsle as the makeup man – He worked for Passion of Christ,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan is playing an important role in the film.

The regular shoot will commenced from October.

Pawan Kalyan said: “I’ve been a big fan of Jesus Christ since my childhood. Recently, my five year old son fell down and he was bruised. As a father, I felt hurt and that time I recalled Mother Mary. How much she would have suffered having seen his son Jesus on the cross? I recorded the moment in my diary. As we are living in a violence-filled society, we also need peace and we have to welcome films in this direction.”

“Four months after the incident, the director came to me and asked if I wanted to do a role in this Christian-oriented film with universal appeal. I was puzzled. So, I am doing this. There are several religions in our land, and I am ready to do any role for the sake of spreading the message of love.”

Konda Krishnam Raju said: “This film is going to be one of the biggest budgeted movies in India. I thank Pawan Kalyan for doing this film. Popular heroines would act with Pawan Kalyan in all the four languages separately.”

Story is by JK Bharavi, Cinematography by Sekhar V Joseph, Art by Ravinder and Makeup by Christiana Tinsle (USA).
