Charmy is going through a rough patch and pinned hopes on this new film NNPV to give a boost to her fast sliding career. Even Jagapathi Babu has not tasted success for a long time. So they both needed a big hit. Has the film enough stuff to meet the expectations of the actors and the audiences? Let us take a look.
Story:
Niharika (Charmy) is a dynamic journalist working for a private TV News channel. She is bold and aggressive. While Niharika is going around town in the night for some sensational news she stumbles upon a big story.
A wicked politician is planning a coup aginst the chief minister. Just as Niharika is collecting evidence, some goons of the politician chase her. At this point the hero Shiva (Jagapathi Babu) enters the scene and saves the heroine. Shiva is a good for nothing fellow but manages to impress Niharika. They fall in love. One night something big happens. What is it? This is the basis for the remaining part of the story.
Coming back to the video evidence that Niharika has collected, she now plans to hand it over to the CM through her boss at the channel Ahuthi Prasad.
However Ahuthi Prasad cheats Niharika and sells the video to the wicked politician for 100 crores. What will Niharika do now? Will she give up or try and expose the nexus between politicians, cops and the media? If so how she goes bout is the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a prehistoric storyline and while the presentation was weak, the narrative was terrible. The dialogues were stale, the script was spineless and the screenplay was way below average. Background score was loud and songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was dull. Editing was required during critical situations. Costumes were moderate while the art department didn’t have much to do. Charmee does her best to salvage her role but in vain, she is a total misfit to this. Jagapathi Babu was disinterested. Pilla Prasad appeals with his act. Uttej was alright. Parachuri Gopalakrishna was okay. Chandramohan was brief. The others didn’t have anything to offer.
Performance:
Charmy does a good job as a news reporter. She is effective and convincing. Jaapathi Babu plays his routine self. Ahuthi is okay and so are Parachuri Gopalakrishna, Babu Mohan, Uttej, Sathyaraj, Supraja and others.
Analysis:
NNPV is basically a message oriented film. It is about the murky happenings in society. Corruption is an age old problem but it continues to dominate in a fields. While the subject is good and important it is the poor direction that mars the film completely. The music is average and the editing is also not up to the mark. The production values are also very low and it is quite obvious to even the average viewer.
Verdict:
The director tries to focus on corruption but he fails in delivering the goods in the right manner. In the end the film ends up as yet another dull and drab take on corruption. The film tests the patience of the audience. The first half is bad and the second half is no better. Don’t even entertain any thoughts about watching this horrible movie.
