The very fact that Vijay, who has been facing a string of failures for the past few years, has agreed to star in the remake of last year’s Bollywood hit film ‘3 Idiots’ is itself very surprising, considering that the movie doesn’t have any scope to Vijay’s style of heroism.
Now, reports emanating from Kollywood suggest that it would be Shankar who would be directing the film! Gemini Lab, which has acquired the Tamil remake rights of ‘3 Idiots’, is said to be in talks with some young and leading heroes to star alongside Vijay in the film.
The hunt for a director to direct the Tamil version has led Gemini Labs to many directors from Dharani to the latest Vishnuvardhan and has finally zeroed in on Shankar, who is in the final stages of making his Rajni-starrer ‘Enthiran: The Robot’.
Reports say that Shankar has agreed ‘in principle’ to direct the film but has told the producer of the film not to ‘leak it’ officially before the release of his mega-project ‘Enthiran’.
